The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation is thrilled to report that this year's Dream Gala was our most successful ever, and we'd like to thank our generous sponsors and Nationals fans! This year's event netted $600,000 for a total of $4.3 million raised over the past decade in support of the Dream Foundation's three cornerstone projects: the Washington Nationals Diabetes Care Complex at Children's National Medical Center; the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy; and the Neighborhood Initiative granting program.
The evening was a celebration of the 10th anniversary of both the team and the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation. Matt and Erika Williams co-chaired the Gala Host Committee and not only charmed guests with their thoughtful remarks, but also led the charge for banner table sales and distinctive auction items. We thank them and their committee members for making the event so very special.
The Dream Gala was held at the lovely Marriott Marquis Washington D.C. and was emceed by Alex Wagner, spirited Nationals fan and host of MSNBC's Now with Alex Wagner. The evening kicked off with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by the dinner program which featured a formal introduction of the 2015 Washington Nationals, a film about the accomplishments of the Dream Foundation and a rollicking live auction, our best in Gala history, with Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler.
We look forward to making more dreams a reality for children and families in the D.C. Metro area.
