Play Ball Lunch presented by Blue Shield of California - More than 1,100 people dined with Giants celebrities and talked about the upcoming season at the Play Ball Lunch presented by Blue Shield of California. Over $200,000 was raised for the Giants Community Fund that day. Photo gallery

CHW Food Drive - The Giants, CHW and the San Francisco Food Bank teamed up for the annual Strike Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 7. The first 5,000 fans who donated $5 or food received a commemorative Washington Nationals pin. Volunteers collected more than $11,000 and 5,300 pounds of food.

Junior Giants Glove Drive presented by Bank of America - Volunteers gathered to collect over 600 gloves and $19,000 in cash donations at the annual Junior Giants Glove Drive. Through this drive, the Giants Community Fund was able to provide over 2,700 gloves for the kids in the Junior Giants program.

It's Your Town, Charlie Brown - The city of Santa Rosa and the family of Charles M. Schulz partnered with the Giants to promote the "It's Your Town, Charlie Brown" event. As a result, the Giants, in partnership with Coca-Cola and Round Table Pizza, created a first-of-its-kind Charlie Brown bobblehead, which was given away at the game on May 28. In addition, the Giants-themed "Say Hey, Charlie Brown" statue, autographed by Giants players, Hall of Famers and broadcasters, was auctioned off for $43,000 at the city of Santa Rosa's tribute to Charles M. Schulz, raising money for aspiring cartoonists.

Organ Donor Awareness Day Presented by the Giants Community Fund - The Giants, the Giants Community Fund and the California Transplant Donor Network partnered for the 8th Annual Organ Donor Awareness Night at AT&T Park. The first 10,000 fans received commemorative organ donation baseball cards. The Giants Community Fund presented a grant for $5,000 to CTDN which was used for the Bayview Hunter's Point Saturday Breakfast Club.

Until There's a Cure Day Presented by the Giants Community Fund, Esurance and McRoskey Mattress Company - On Sunday, June 12, the Giants and the Giants Community Fund held the 12th annual Until There's A Cure Day to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS education and prevention. The 2005 Until There's A Cure Day theme was "SF Fights AIDS."

Balldude Camp - Tryouts were held at AT&T Park for the chance to be a Balldude for a game in 2006. This fund-raising event for the Giants Community Fund gave participants the opportunity to test their skills in fielding, baseball trivia and Balldude knowledge.

Family Day in the Park - Fans gathered to spend an unforgettable afternoon in the ballpark tossing the ball around, using the Giants batting cages, enjoying ballpark treats and taking a few swings off a pitching machine from homeplate.

Wives Auction - The Giants wives raised over $22,000 through their online charity auction. All proceeds from the sale of one-of-a-kind experience packages and rare autographed memorabilia benefited the Giants Community Fund and Comfort for Kids.

Easter Seals Walk With Me - The Giants and Easter Seals Bay Area partnered to host the 2nd Annual "Walk With Me" San Francisco at China Basin Park, across the cove from AT&T Park. Participants enjoyed a beautiful walk around AT&T Park, a post-event party and the Giants vs. Cardinals game.

Golf Classic presented by GE Commercial Finance - More than 250 golfers came out to support the Giants Community Fund Golf Classic at the Olympic Club that raised over $250,000 for charity. Several Giants celebrities, including Scott Eyre, Ray Durham, Jeff Fassero and Ron Wotus came out to show their support as well.

A Giant Day at Raymond Vineyards - Giants Community Fund supporters and several sports celebrities gathered for a day of food, wine and music at "A Giant Day at Raymond Vineyards" in St. Helena, Calif. Guests tasted delicious samples of sandwiches in the "Giant" sandwich competition among Napa Valley restaurants.

Strike Out Cancer Day presented by Genentech Inc. - The Giants and Genentech Inc., a leading developer of targeted cancer therapies, teamed up for the second annual Strike Out Cancer Program. For every strikeout thrown during the 2005 season, Genentech donated $200 to the Bay Area facility of the Wellness Community. The Strike Out Cancer program is designed to educate and empower cancer patients and their loved ones. Since the inception of Strike Out Cancer, Genentech and the Giants have raised just over $200,000 for the Wellness Community.

Junior Giants Day & Nights presented by Bank of America - Over three days, a total of 8,000 Junior Giants made their way to AT&T Park for Junior Giants Day and Junior Giants Nights. Many of the kids had the chance to parade around the ballpark before the game and display signs with their league names. During a pregame ceremony, a select number of Junior Giants participants were also recognized for their outstanding service to their communities and this program. Photo gallery

Safety Day/9-11 Remembrance - As a remembrance to the series of events that took place on Sept. 11, 2001, the Giants hosted a special pregame tribute ceremony as well as the annual Safety Festival prior to the game. $17,000 was raised for the San Francisco Fire Fighter's Toy Program.

Hurricane Katrina Response - In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Giants launched a number of initiatives to raise money for the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. Through the sale of Mardi Gras beads at the ballpark, the online experience auction, the Giants Community Fund live auction and employee contributions, the Giants raised $129,000 for the Fund.

Strike Out Violence Day presented by Blue Shield of California - The 8th annual Strike Out Violence Day was presented by Blue Shield of California in partnership with the Giants Community Fund, San Francisco Sheriff's Department, the Family Violence Prevention Fund and focused on Coaching Boys into Men. The Giants Community Fund contributed more than $95,000 in grants to violence prevention programs that day. Over $24,000 was raised in the Jerseys Off Our Giants raffle to benefit La Casa de las Madres. During a postgame ceremony, Giants players presented jerseys to raffle winners in the Giants dugout.

Education Night - The Giants Community Fund awarded $75,000 in grants and scholarships to six non-profit organizations and 10 Junior Giants scholars that evening. The San Francisco Education Fund was also recognized for their part in spearheading the Teacher Incentive Program and was given game tickets for local teachers. That night, the Giants Community Fund also acknowledged the $25,000 naming grant to the Children's Area of the Mission Bay Branch of the San Francisco Public Library that will open in 2006.

Halloween Heroes - Giants pitcher Noah Lowry joined sports and media celebrities and several guests at Halloween Heroes presented by the Wender Weis Foundation for Children. This year, guests gathered at the San Francisco Zoo and enjoyed food and fun activities for the whole family. More »
