Play Ball Lunch presented by Blue Shield of California

Strikeouts For Troops All Star Jam

That's right, some of our Giants players have musical abilities and they performed at the Strikeouts For Troops All-Star Jam, a charity concert, on Thursday, May 24, at Ruby Skye. The evening's performers included Barry Zito, his sister, Sally Zito, Omar Vizquel, Raquel Aurilia, wife of Giants player Rich Aurilia, and headliner Eddie Money. Giants Community Fund Postgame Auction

Thank you to Giants fans who donated to the Junior Giants Glove Drive. Over 700 gloves and $70,000 in donations were collected to purchase gloves for the youth in Junior Giants. You can still help out -- purchase a pin.

Giants Community Fund Golf Classic presented by GE Commercial Finance
Check presentationGiants celebrities teed off for charity on Monday, July 23, at the Giants Community Fund Golf Classic presented by GE Commercial Finance at the renowned Olympic Club. The Giants Community Fund would like to thank our longtime supporter and presenting sponsor of the Golf Classic, GE Commercial Finance. Since 1994, GE has contributed over $2 million to the Fund through the Golf Classic. This year's tournament was a huge success, bringing in over $300,000 for the Community Fund. Family Day in the Park presented by Thomas'
The third annual Family Day in the Park presented by Thomas' took place on Sunday, Aug. 19, to benefit the Giants Community Fund. Guests got to toss the ball around on the field, use the batting cages and even got the chance to hit the ball from home plate.

Junior Giants Day presented by Bank of America
Junior GiantsThe Giants Community Fund proudly hosted over 4,000 Junior Giants to the ballpark for the annual Junior Giants Day celebration on Sunday, Aug. 26. The Junior Giants participated in an unforgettable pregame parade around the field before settling in their seats to watch the game and eat a complimentary lunch. During the pregame ceremony, the Junior Giants "Willie Mac" Awardees were recognized for their outstanding contributions and participation throughout the season. Photo gallery Photos

Strike Out Violence Day & Jerseys off our Giants
On Sunday, Sept. 9, the Giants Community Fund, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco Sheriff's Department and the Family Violence Prevention Fund honored the 10th anniversary of this awareness day by bringing out survivors of violence and organizations committed to ending violence in our community. The Giants Community Fund distributed $63,000 in grants for violence prevention efforts and victim services.

The day also included the sixth annual Jerseys Off Our Giants raffle to benefit La Casa de las Madres. Nearly $19,000 was raised through the sale of $1 raffle tickets for the chance to win a game-worn autographed Giants jersey.

Junior Giants Players, Coaches Honored at Willie Mac Awards Luncheon
Junior Giants with Willie McCoveyOver 70 Junior Giants players and coaches joined Giants Hall of Famer Willie McCovey on Saturday, Oct. 27, for the third annual Junior Giants Willie Mac Awards Luncheon at AT&T Park.

The Junior Giants Willie Mac Award, named in honor of Giants Hall of Famer Willie McCovey, is the "junior" version of the annual award given to a Giants player by his teammates. Our award is presented to the players and coaches who best exemplify the Junior Giants Four Bases of Character Development: Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork.

The award recipients even had the opportunity to meet Willie McCovey and other celebrity guests including Renel Brooks-Moon, Duane Kuiper and former Willie Mac Award winner J.T. Snow.

Health Fairs
This season, Del Monte Foods joined the Giants Community Fund and Catholic Healthcare West to sponsor a number of health fairs in Bay Area communities.

The health fairs, which are part of the Giants Community Fund health initiative, provided a variety of complimentary health and safety demonstrations, health resource booths and physical fitness testing for attendees. The first health fair was held on Saturday, Sept. 15, at St. Paul of the Shipwreck Church in San Francisco. The second health fair, which was a collaboration with the city of Daly City and Daly City Park and Recreation, was held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at John F. Kennedy School in Daly City. The health fair featured dental screenings from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry faculty and students, as well as screenings for bone density, cholesterol, diabetes and scoliosis.

Halloween Heroes
Renel, Kevin Frandsen and Junior GiantsKevin Frandsen, Tyler Walker, Dave Flemming and Renel Brooks-Moon joined more than 20 professional athletes and media personalities at the Exploratorium on Monday, Oct. 29, for this fundraiser that included arts and crafts stations, pumpkin decorating, costumed characters, food and beverages from top Bay Area restaurants, interactive activities, a silent auction and "tricks" and "treats" for the entire family. The money raised at this night of fun benefited the Junior Giants baseball program of the Giants Community Fund and the Exploratorium's Youth Outreach Program.
