On Friday, April 3, the Giants celebrated the start of the season at the 2009 Play Ball Lunch presented by Blue Shield of California. The entire Giants team, broadcasters and many of your favorite alumni dined with nearly 1,100 fans at this event to benefit the Giants Community Fund and the Junior Giants program. Learn More »
Every Friday Night
Stop by the Community Clubhouse (located on the Promenade level behind home plate) on Friday nights to purchase a Mystery Grab Bag to benefit the Giants Community Fund. Each bag includes one premium item, such as an autographed baseball or bobblehead, and several smaller promotional items.
You never know what "treasure" you're going to get! The bags are sold pre-game, or until they are sold out.

The Giants welcome BuildOn to AT&T Park on Saturday, April 18. BuildOn is a program that partners its after school programs in the United States with communities in developing countries with the goal of building schools. Primarily focused in urban areas, BuildOn runs 130 after school programs in the United States. Through the efforts of BuildOn, 295 schools have been built around the world helping to empower thousands of people through education and literacy.

The Giants are partnering with the Jefferson Awards to recognize the volunteering efforts of Jefferson Award youth service members. Student honorees will be recognized for their service projects in a pre-game ceremony before the Giants take on the Colorado Rockies.

AT&T Park will host San Francisco Unified School District's AAA Baseball Championship game immediately following the Giants vs. Washington game. The high school championship game was first played at Candlestick Park 22 years ago and will continue for the tenth season at AT&T Park. Admission to the high school championship game is free. Please join us and help the San Francisco Giants support San Francisco's high school athletics.

The eighth annual G.R.E.A.T. essay contest is for kids around the Bay Area to explain how they can make their community a better place through gang resistance and positive living. Sponsored by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, winners will be brought to the ballpark for a special ceremony on May 15.

Join the Giants and the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative (BAWSI) and Team-Up for Youth for the second annual Girl's Day at AT&T Park. A special Q & A session will be held with professional women athletes before the Giants play the St. Louis Cardinals. Special event ticket required. BAWSI, founded in 2005 by World Cup soccer stars Brandi Chastain and Julie Foudy, has a mission to create programs and partnerships through which women athletes bring health, hope and wholeness to our community. Team-Up for Youth is working to create a world in which ALL kids have sports opportunities that teach valuable life lessons.

Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program, initiated in 1996, is designed to provide youth across North America with an integrated competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills. More than 450,000 boys and girls from the ages of 7-14 currently participate in the program. The Giants will host this clinic at AT&T Park for local youth athletes prior to their game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Music, Art & Movie Festival on the field at AT&T Park

Bookstock 2009! is a celebration of art for the entire family. Attendees will enjoy an evening of live music by top Bay Area bands, a live art show featuring over 25 renowned artists, and an advanced screening of the new film Touching Home and the launch of the inspiration memoir Either You're In Or You're in the Way. The 16th annual "Until There's A Cure Night" will be held at AT&T Park on Friday, June 12. In 1994, the Giants became the first-ever professional sports team to host an AIDS benefit game, "Until There's A Cure Day." Since then, the Giants and the Giants Community Fund have repeated the effort, generating more than $1.3 million for Bay Area AIDS education and care/service organizations and international AIDS research.
Until There's A Cure® Foundation is non-profit organization founded in 1993 by two California mothers who were concerned about the effects of HIV/AIDS on the lives of children.
The Giants Community Fund will also give out grants through the Until There's A Cure® Foundation. Working together, the Until There's A Cure®Foundation and the Giants Community Fund will donate this money to non-profit organizations that are committed to providing HIV/AIDS services to the community.

The annual Food Drive to benefit the San Francisco Food Bank is Sunday, June 14. The first 5,000 fans to donate non-perishable food or make a $5 donation will receive a drink tumbler. Food Bank volunteers will be collecting donations at all gates prior to the Giants vs. A's 1:05 game.
Your donation will help the San Francisco Food Bank provide much-needed food assistance to 450 non-profit programs like grocery pantries, soup kitchens and residential treatment facilities in San Francisco.
The annual Giants and A's wives softball game will also take place at AT&T Park before the game against the A's. After the game stop by the Community Clubhouse on the Promenade Level to purchase a Mystery Grab bag. Each bag has an autographed baseball signed by either and A's or Giants player. Proceeds benefit local children's hospitals.

The Giants and Oracle will welcome back children's library coordinators from the five Bay Area counties to help kick off their summer reading programs. The library coordinators will take part in a home plate ceremony recognizing their work helping youngsters to cover their bases and read all year long.
Tuesday, June 16
The Giants welcome back WritersCorps to AT&T Park in 2009. Students from the program will be performing slam poetry before the game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Celebrating their 15th anniversary, WritersCorps is program part of the San Francisco Arts Commission that encourages youth to express them selves through writing and spoken word.

The Giants and Genentech bring the sixth annual "Strike Out Cancer Day" at AT&T Park. This event honors cancer survivors and empowers others to learn more about dealing with the disease. During the game, fans will have the opportunity to receive information on cancer resources and empowerment programs and to support these programs through a donation to The Wellness Community.

This charity event will give you a chance to try out to be a "Balldude" or "Dudette" for one game in 2008!

The Giants will welcome back The Arc of San Francisco to AT&T Park on July 8th. The Arc of San Francisco serves, supports and advocates for individuals with developmental disabilities. They provide a variety of services to over 400 people daily. The Giants have an important relationship with The Arc as several Arc Clients are dedicated Giants employees.
Thursday, July 9 - Sunday, July 12
The Giants and Willie McCovey are proud to introduce the Junior Giants Stretch Drive, which will involve fans and the larger community in supporting the Junior Giants Program. Through donations to the Giants Community Fund, more than 15,000 children in underserved neighborhoods are able to receive a free baseball league along with opportunities for character development, scholarships, literacy programs and much more. During the July 9-12 series, there will be an all-out effort through the media and at the ballpark to rally fans to donate. Special thank-you gifts for donors will feature Willie "Stretch" McCovey."

On July 28 the Giants team up with local and state transportation agencies, including CHP, OTS and SFPD, for Family Safety Day at the ballpark. Prior to the Giants vs. Pittsburgh game, there will be an interactive traffic safety festival at the O'Doul Gate. The event will include interactive displays and information booths promoting traffic safety to fans of all ages. During pre-game ceremonies, the Giants will honor the organizations that make travel safe and convenient to AT&T Park.

On July 29th the Giants welcome the San Francisco Boys & Girls Clubs to AT&T Park. There will be face painting tables and crafts tables set up in the Coca-Cola Fan Lot for children and families to enjoy. In a special pre-game ceremony the 2009 Youth of the Year will be honored for their contributions to the San Francisco Boys & Girls Clubs and the impact they have made in the community.

The San Francisco Giants, Giants Community Fund and Astellas present the 12th Annual Organ Donor Awareness Night on Thursday, July 30. The first 5,000 fans will receive commemorative baseball cards featuring Giants players on one side and important organ donation facts on the other. Organ Donor Awareness Night is an annual event at AT&T Park in which Giants players and coaches urge fans to become organ donors. The Giants will always remember and celebrate the life of Lori Gardner, wife of Giants bullpen coach Mark Gardner who lost her life to cancer. The Gardner Family has been instrumental in raising awareness and funds for organ donation.

On Saturday, August 8, the Giants Community Fund will proudly host Education Night, recognizing the outstanding contributions of local organizations and individuals to the cause of education and literacy. During this special evening, the Fund will honor its 2009 education grant recipients in a pre-game ceremony. In addition to acknowledging the contributions of these incredible educators and organizations, the Fund will also honor the seventh class of Junior Giants Scholars. The ten scholars will receive college scholarships as an incentive to remain dedicated to academics and their community while in high school.

On Sunday, August 9 the Giants Community Fund will bring over 4,000 Junior Giants players and coaches to the ballpark for the annual Junior Giants Day celebration. The Junior Giants will participate in a pre-game parade around the field with their teammates before settling in their seats to watch the game and eat a complimentary lunch. During the pregame ceremony, the Junior Giants "Willie Mac" Awardees will be recognized for their outstanding contributions and participation throughout the season. Select Junior Giants will also sing the National Anthem, take the field before the game with the Giants players, announce "Play Ball!" and act as the Junior Announcer. What a day!
In addition to Junior Giants Day, the Giants Community Fund will bring out 5,000 kids and coaches to Junior Giants Nights during the month of August. These Junior Giants will also receive dinner coupons and the opportunity to enjoy the game!

Join Giants celebrities as they tee off for charity at the Willie McCovey Classic on Thursday, August 27 at Harding Park. This course, known to many as the site of this year's Presidents Cup and the 2010 Charles Schwab Cup, offers a spectacular setting for the perfect day of golf. Many of your favorite Giants players and alumni, including Hall of Famer Willie McCovey, join in for a day on the links.

On Saturday, August 29 the Giants Community Fund will host its annual year-end silent and live auction. The silent auction will be held in the Scoreboard Plaza area to the right of the giant glove. The auction will feature nearly 70 autographed items, including memorabilia from other MLB teams! A live auction will be held on top of the Visitors dugout immediately following the game with more than 20 unique items, including memorabilia and exclusive experiences at the ballpark!
Sunday, September 13
The Giants will partner with the San Francisco Sheriff's Department's Resolve to Stop the Violence Program and the Family Violence Prevention Fund to sponsor Strike Out Violence Day on Sunday, September 13. Since its inception in 1998, this first-of-its-kind collaboration between a law enforcement agency, and a professional sports team was designed to educate and bring public awareness to the issue of violence.
The day will also include the ninth annual Jerseys Off Our Giants raffle to benefit violence prevention efforts through La Casa de las Madres. Volunteers sell $1 raffle tickets throughout the ballpark for the chance to win a game-worn autographed Giants jersey.

The Junior Giants Willie Mac Award, named in honor of Giants Hall of Famer Willie McCovey, is the "junior" version of the annual award given to a Giants player by his teammates. Our award is presented to the players and coaches who best exemplify the Junior Giants Four Bases of Character Development: Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork.
The award winners will be recognized at the annual Junior Giants Willie Mac Awards Luncheon at AT&T Park.
