CHINA BASIN HISTORY
In San Francisco's early years, the area where AT&T Park now stands was part of San Francisco Bay. Sand from Rincon Hill (which anchors the western end of the Bay Bridge) and rubble from the 1906 earthquake are believed to have been used as landfill to create the parcel in the late 19th century. The area was then used primarily for shipping and industrial uses. The Pacific Mail Steamship Company imported silk, tea, rice and opium from Asia to the United States to a dock at the foot of Brannan Street. The dominance of Asian commerce around the Brannan Street wharf led to the area being called China Basin. Just west of the ballpark site, the Southern Pacific Railroad built its headquarters (1867) next to the railyards at Fourth and Townsend streets. In 1915 Southern Pacific opened a mission-style passenger terminal at Third and Townsend streets.
CHINA BASIN PARK AT MCCOVEY POINT (See also China Basin Park)
The newest landmark at China Basin, this park across McCovey Cove from AT&T Park features a grassy esplanade for picnickers, a tee-ball field and a beautiful shoreline walkway. The park features a waterfront promenade with a 1,500-foot seat wall that is inlaid with markers commemorating every San Francisco Giants team from 1958 through 1999. Each marker displays the names of all players on each year's team along with key achievements and statistics from that season. The northeast corner of the park is anchored by a 14-foot bronze statue of Giants Hall of Fame slugger Willie McCovey. The statue's base bears the names of the past winners of the annual Willie Mac Award-an accolade given to the most inspirational Giants player.
CHW HEALTH CENTER
Located on the Portwalk, near the Lefty O'Doul Bridge, the CHW Health Center is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during evening and weekend home games. The Center's number is 415-972-2249.

The King Street clock towers are the most prominent architectural features of AT&T Park. The two towers are 122 feet tall and feature pyramid-shaped roofs topped by 45-foot tall flagpoles. The two clocks located on each of the two main towers are eight feet in diameter. Two smaller clock towers, measuring 47 feet tall and featuring three-foot diameter clocks are located at the Seals Plaza and Lefty O'Doul Plaza entrances.
COCA-COLA FAN LOT
Located on the Promenade Level, above the left-field bleachers, Coca-Cola Fan Lot is an interactive play area for children and adults. On game days, visit the Giants InstaFoto booth to take home a special moment of your ballpark experience. The Fan Lot offers guests not only a great view of the game, but also views of the city's skyline, Bay Bridge and San Francisco Bay.
Make your own Lou Seal by Build-A-Bear Workshop (Located in the Coca-cola Fan Lot, behind section 141). You'll have furry fun when you choose Lou Seal, stuff it, give a heart filled with your wishes and dress it in official Giants stuff. It's the most furry fun you can have at the ballpark.

LEFTY O'DOUL PLAZA/BRIDGE
Lefty O'Doul Plaza is located at Third and Berry streets. The Lefty O'Doul Bridge is adjacent to the Lefty O'Doul Plaza entrance to AT&T Park and connects the ballpark with the Giants Parking Lots. The historic bridge, which opened in 1933, was designed by Joseph Strauss, who also designed the better-known Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge is a working drawbridge and at one time carried streetcar and train traffic in addition to automobiles and pedestrians. During a recent renovation, two lanes of the bridge were outfitted with a pedestrian-friendly surface to accommodate the thousands of baseball fans who walk over the bridge from the parking lots to AT&T Park.
The bridge is named after Francis Joseph "Lefty" O'Doul, one of San Francisco's most popular ballplayers. O'Doul's baseball career spanned five decades and included time in uniform as a pitcher, outfielder and manager. O'Doul spent parts of three seasons with the New York Giants and played for and managed the Pacific Coast League's San Francisco Seals. In his most memorable Major League season, O'Doul batted .398 and hit 32 home runs in 1929.
LEVI'S® LANDING
Levi's® Landing features the ballpark's signature right-field wall and arcade. Just 309 feet from home plate, the 25-foot high wall is the shortest in all of baseball and is the distinguishing feature of AT&T Park. Historic home run balls have sailed over the wall and landed in McCovey Cove since the ballpark opened in 2000. The arcade section, which features seven rows of seats and standing-room locations, has remained a coveted viewing location for Giants fans to watch their favorite team. The wall will continue to remain the focal point of the ballpark during the 2006 campaign and as the Giants host Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game and home run hitting contest in 2007.
LIGHTS
A total of 668 light fixtures illuminate the playing field at AT&T Park. The fixtures are installed on five light standards, the tallest of which measures 178 feet. Special lighting technology allows for intense lighting of the inside of the ballpark and very little light leakage into the surrounding neighborhood.

Every child should be told to contact the nearest ballpark operations staff member should he or she become lost. Lost children will be taken to the Guest Services Office located on the Promenade Level behind Section 119. Parents looking for a lost child should also go to the Guest Services Office. SEALS PLAZA at MARINA GATE

SECOND STREET GATE/PLAZA
The Second Street Gate is located at Second and King streets and is one of the four entrances to the ballpark. The plaza area is the only plaza at AT&T Park located inside the park's gates. The Will Call windows are located next to the AT&T Park Ticket Office, at Willie Mays Plaza, along King Street. Will Call windows open two hours prior to game time. Tickets purchased by phone or on the team website (sfgiants.com) can be picked up at one of the ballpark's automated Will Call machines simply by inserting the credit card used to purchase the tickets and selecting the game tickets you want dispensed. The automated Will Call machines are open 24 hours a day and are located outside the ballpark. You will find them at the Willie Mays, Second and King, and Lefty O'Doul plazas.
WILLIE MAYS PLAZA/GATE
Willie Mays Plaza, located at the corner of Third and King streets, honors one of the greatest players in Giants history. With an official street address of 24 Willie Mays Plaza, the entrance of AT&T Park pays tribute to the Hall of Fame center fielder, whose career spanned 22 years in New York and San Francisco. A bevy of his records stand today -- a testament to his lasting impact on the game and the franchise. The plaza features 24 palm trees in recognition of Mays' jersey number and is home to an 8 1/2-foot bronze statue of the Say Hey Kid. The statue was commissioned by Peter and Debby Magowan and created by William Behrends, a well-known American sculptor and longtime Mays admirer.
