2. Clean Up The Market I.P.A.W.S - A Company that Barry and his marketing agency co-founded to police the major memorabilia internet sites and to remove fraudulent and forged merchandise prior to its sale. All sites like E-Bay, Yahoo Auctions, Overstock.com, etc. are reviewed by a hand writing expert that specializes in Barry's signature. All the items that are believe d to be fake are then forwarded to Barry for his review. To date, over 100's of thousands of forged products and unlicensed merchandise that would have been sold to unknowing consumers have been delisted. Many of these products appear to have COA's, holograms, and other markings which makes it very confusing to the average fan trying to but a signed photo. Here are just a few of the other Fakes & Scams we have spotted on the internet.
3. !!!WARNING SCAM UPDATE WARNING!!! Look out for a new scam we have seen on a few on-line auction sites! Sellers are advertising a signed Bonds trading card, but the picture is for a card that bears no signature. The ad claims that the card pictured will come signed by Barry Bonds. What buyers get is a forged signature on the Bonds card pictured. Virtually every trading card Barry has ever signed (especially in the past 10 years) has the seals of that trading card company, MLB, Barry's, or some combination of those. If you have any questions, or see any sellers attempting this scam, please contact us at IsItReal@BarryBonds.com.
