Pirates Charities 3rd annual Sporting Clays Invitational took place on Thursday, September 8th, 2011. The event was hosted by award-winning instructor Michael Mohr at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.

Pirates Chairman Bob Nutting served as event co-chair, along with Dr. Patrick DeMeo. The event was presented by Allegheny General Hospital's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Cabela's, Home Depot and Seven Springs.

There, more than 130 participants had the opportunity to spend the day with current and former Pirates players, broadcasters and front office executives on a top notch shooting course.

Current players such as James McDonald, Chase d'Arnaud and Brian Burres joined Pirates alumni including Steve Blass, Sid Bream and Grant Jackson, to name a few.

Thanks to the generosity of the event sponsors and attendees, $64,000 was raised to support Pirates Charities many and varied efforts.
