The first of Ryan Garko's two homers added to the Giants' early lead and appeared to have San Francisco on its way to a tie with Colorado atop the NL Wild Card standings, but Joe Martinez and the bullpen had no answer for the Rockies in a costly seven-run bottom of the sixth.
