Giants 6, Cardinals 3
Chris Carpenter allowed six runs on 11 hits in five innings on Tuesday. (Jeff Roberson/AP)
By B.J. Rains / MLB.com
Albert Pujols drove in all three Cardinals runs with his 29th and 30th homers, but Chris Carpenter's struggles and a lack of production from Pujols' supporting cast proved costly. Pujols' effort put him in elite company as he recorded only the 32nd 30-homer first half in history.
