Morse's homer confirmed after video review

Replay shows fan didn't touch ball before it cleared wall

SAN FRANCISCO -- A crew chief review confirmed a Michael Morse home run in the second inning of Tuesday night's game between the Pirates and Giants.

Morse led off the inning with a drive to left-center off left-hander Francisco Liriano that settled into the first row of the stands above the 382-foot mark.

Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle requested the review, feeling that the fan who ended up with the ball had reached over the wall for it.

Replays confirmed the original call and indicated the ball actually struck the fan in the midsection before he had touched it.

Morse's solo home run, his first in AT&T Park since May 15, cut the Pirates' lead to 3-1.
