AT&T Park to host soccer double dip in March

Before baseball returns to the Bay Area, San Francisco will host a St. Patrick's Day soccer doubleheader.

Mexico and Senegal will square off in one of their final tests before their Olympic qualifying matches, headlining a doubleheader at AT&T Park on March 17. Prior to that match, the San Jose Earthquakes will face the Houston Dynamo in a regular-season Major League Soccer contest at 2 p.m. PT.

The Mexican under-23 national team will be using this match as preparation for the CONCACAF Olympic qualifiers, which start March 23 against Trinidad and Tobago, followed by matches with Honduras (March 25) and Panama (March 27) at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Senegal's under-23 national team, meanwhile, will await its AFC playoff opponent in its Olympic qualifying.

AT&T Park has previously hosted the Mexican senior team and more recently welcomed international club soccer. A sold-out crowd of more than 45,000 fans packed Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for a 2008 match between Mexico and Iceland.

An exclusive Visa presale for the doubleheader will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. PT at www.sjearthquakes.com/visa. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Monday at 10 a.m. PT on www.Tickets.com, at the AT&T Park box office, Giants Dugout Store locations or by phone at 1-800-225-2277.
