Battery gives Giants glimpse of future
Posey, Bumgarner work together in bigs for first time

"It went pretty well for the first time [in the Majors]," Posey said.Said Bumgarner, "It was even better than the last time I threw to him." Bumgarner hadn't pitched since Sept. 8, when Tim Lincecum was scratched with back spasms. The left-hander felt nervous that night despite allowing just two runs in 5 1/3 innings. This time, Bumgarner said, "It was more like another game. I was relaxed." Posey recorded his hit by stroking a 1-2 pitch from Dodgers right-hander Jeff Weaver. "It definitely felt good," he said.
Admitting that he felt anxious to play again after making his Major League debut in another lopsided loss to the Dodgers on Sept. 11, Posey was relieved to secure hit No. 1.
"Especially after my first [game], I was antsy to get out there," Posey said. "So it was nice to get it today."
