Giants name Shun Kakazu coordinator of Japan operations

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The San Francisco Giants have added Shun Kakazu to their international operations department, club Special Assistant to the General Manager John Barr announced today.
"Shun will provide us with a full time presence in Japan," said Barr. "With his experience combined with John Cox (Coordinator of Pacific Rim Scouting), we have strengthed our scouting staff in the Pacific Rim."
Kakazu, who previously worked for the Chiba Lotte Marines Baseball Club in Chiba, Japan since 2006, will be San Francisco's coordinator of Japan operations. While with Chiba Lotte, Kakazu was the director of player personnel in the baseball operations department, overseeing amateur, professional and foreign player personnel in order to help manager Bobby Valentine make decisions on player acquisitions.
Kakazu graduated from Harvard University in 2004 with an A.B. in Faculty of Arts and Sciences with Honors.
