Castleberry, who served as an East Coast Supervisor for the Philadelphia Phillies from 2004-08, will work as San Francisco's Northeast Supervisor. The Tacoma, WA native was named Cross Checker of the Year in 2008 for the Mid Atlantic Scouting Association. Castleberry has also held scouting positions for the Florida Marlins (1991-2000), Cincinnati Reds (2000-02) and Texas Rangers (2002-04). While with the Reds, he signed Joey Votto, who was second in rookie of the year balloting this year. He currently resides in High Point, NC.

Salermo, who started his scouting career with the New York Mets in 1998, will work as the club's Latin America Cross-Checker. While with the Mets, Salermo was responsible for drafting Lastings Milledge and was also part of the Mets staff that drafted Scott Kazmir and David Wright. A native of Manzanillo, Cuba, Salermo has spent the past three years as an area supervisor with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He currently resides in Hallandale Beach, FL.

Merrill will serve as an area scout in Florida after playing nine years of professional baseball, most recently with the Tampa Bay Rays' organization at the double-A and triple-A levels in 2008. The Danville, Virginia native was originally drafted by Detroit in the seventh round of the 2000 First-Year Player Draft. He currently resides in Tampa, FL.

Metcalf, who will also work as an area scout in Florida, was previously the Recruiting Coordinator at Florida Southern College. He also worked as the head baseball coach at Charlotte (Punta Gorda, FL) High School from 2001-06. While there, he coached five players who were later drafted, including Matt LaPorta, a number one pick by Milwaukee. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL.
