SAN FRANCISCO -- Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) and the San Francisco Giants will team up again to donate thousands of dollars in cash and food to the San Francisco Food Bank during the annual CHW Food Drive Day at AT&T Park on Saturday, April 12, when the Giants play host to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The donations to the San Francisco Food Bank, from the annual CHW Food Drive Day, will provide food to families in need through the Food Bank's network of 184 pantries. This year, the Food Bank will distribute 31 million pounds of food, enough for 66,000 meals.

In addition to CHW Food Drive Day, Catholic Healthcare West, the official healthcare provider of the San Francisco Giants, works with a wide range of nonprofit organizations as part of its mission to serve its communities in California, Arizona and Nevada.

"CHW Food Drive Day at AT&T Park is a partnership between Catholic Healthcare West and the San Francisco Giants in support of the San Francisco Food Bank's outstanding work in alleviating hunger in San Francisco," said Wade Rose, vice president, external & government relations of Catholic Healthcare West.

For the first time, fans can also make donations to the Food Bank in $1 increments at concession stand cash registers, marked with Food Drive signs, located throughout the ballpark.

"Our long-time partnership with CHW and the San Francisco Food Bank is one of our great corporate/community relationships, and we are excited to offer our nonprofit partners one more way to raise funds and awareness at the ballpark," said Larry Baer, Giants executive vice president and chief operating officer.

"CHW and the Giants are valued community partners and have helped provide food to thousands of low-income families, children, and seniors" said Paul Ash, executive director of the San Francisco Food Bank. "With the recent increases in food and fuel prices, having this community support is critical to ending hunger in San Francisco".
