  • Astros Place Correa on DL with Torn Ligament in Left Thumb

    The Houston Astros have placed shortstop Carlos Correa on the 10-day Disabled List with a torn ligament in his left thumb. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks. To take Correa's spot on the active roster, the club has recalled infielder Colin Moran from Triple A Fresno. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

  • After Record-Setting First Half, Astros Return as Top Team in the League

    The Houston Astros kick off the second half of the 2017 season on Friday as they return from the All-Star Break to take on the Minnesota Twins (July 14-16) and AL West rival Seattle Mariners (July 17-19). The Astros entered the All-Star Break with the best record in the American League at 60-29, leading the league by 10 games and marking the best 89-game start in franchise history. Houston is also just the fourth team in AL history to reach 60 wins prior to the All-Star Break. The Astros lead the AL West Division by 16.5 games, setting a new franchise benchmark for a division lead, all-time. In the first half of play, the 2017 Astros set club records in batting average (.289), slugging percentage (.500), OPS (.855), runs (527), hits (898), doubles (197) and home runs (148). The pitching staff set a first-half franchise record in strikeouts with 902.

    The Houston Astros player development department has named IF Tyler White the Astros Minor League Player of the Month for June, and RHP Forrest Whitley the Astros Minor League Pitcher of the Month for June.

    The Houston Astros have signed first-round pick, right-handed pitcher J.B. Bukauskas, who was taken with the 15th overall selection in the 2017 MLB Draft.

    Major League Baseball announced today that right-handed pitcher Chris Devenski has been added to the American League All-Star Team.

  • Five Astros named to American League All-Star Team

    Major League Baseball announced tonight that second baseman Jose Altuve, shortstop Carlos Correa, outfielder George Springer, left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel and right-handed pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. have been named to the 2017 American League All-Star Team. Altuve, Correa and Springer were elected to start the game via the fan vote at second base, shortstop and in the outfield, respectively. Keuchel and McCullers Jr. were named to the game via a combination of the Player Ballot and Major League Baseball's Office of the Commissioner.

    Major League Baseball released the rosters for the 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game today, which feature three Astros players. Outfielders Derek Fisher and Kyle Tucker have been named to the U.S. Team roster, while outfielder Yordan Alvarez will represent Houston as a member of the World Team.

  • Astros sign second-round pick Corbin Martin

    The Houston Astros have signed second-round pick, right-handed pitcher Corbin Martin. Martin was taken with the 56th overall selection in the 2017 MLB Draft as the second of Houston's two second-round picks.
