Prior to tonight's game at Texas, the Chicago White Sox optioned left-handed pitcher Donnie Veal to Class AAA Charlotte and recalled right-hander Brian Omogrosso from Charlotte.

Omogrosso, 29, is 0-1 with a 6.52 ERA (7 ER/9.2 IP) and nine strikeouts over seven relief appearances with the Knights this season. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder allowed two runs in 6.2 IP over his last five games (2.70 ERA).

Omogrosso was 0-0 with a 2.57 ERA (6 ER/21.0 IP) and 18 strikeouts over 17 relief outings in his rookie season with the Sox in 2012. He limited right-handed hitters to a .224 (11-49) average and allowed one run in 9.0 IP over his final seven appearances of the season.

Omogrosso ("oh-muh-GRAH-so") will wear uniform No. 48.

Veal, 28, is 1-0 with a 4.26 ERA (3 ER/6.1 IP) and one hold over 12 relief appearances with the White Sox this season.
