SAN FRANCISCO -- Shortstop Omar Vizquel is in Arizona trying to rehabilitate his left knee and is "at least two or three days away" from playing in extended Spring Training games, manager Bruce Bochy said Friday.
Bochy said that Vizquel, who underwent surgery Feb. 22 and was diagnosed with a bone bruise in his knee earlier this month, had been "doing some baseball stuff." Privately, however, several people within the organization have expressed doubts that Vizquel, who turned 41 on Thursday, will rejoin the Giants any time soon.| The Giants struck out 11 batters on Thursday, earning fans an $11 discount on tickets for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
