Rangers at the plate: Travis Metcalf's two-run, two-out, two-strike double off Steve Kline broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning, and Julio Borbon contributed a two-run, tiebreaking single in the 10th. Kevin Mench and Marlon Byrd drew bases-loaded walks and Ben Broussard and David Murphy hit sacrifice flies in Texas' four-run first inning.

Giants at the plate: Rich Aurilia's bases-loaded, ground-rule double in the fifth inning forged the temporary 4-4 tie. Ray Durham, playing his first game at second base this spring, went 2-for-3 with a double.

Rangers on the mound: Jamey Wright, who pitched for the Giants in 2006, fired two shutout innings. Left-hander Bill White pitched a perfect sixth.

Giants on the mound: Noah Lowry's nightmarish spring continued as he walked nine of the 12 batters he faced. Fifth-starter candidate Kevin Correia allowed one hit in three shutout innings after Merkin Valdez blanked Texas for two innings.

Cactus League records: Rangers 4-1-1; Giants 2-4.

Up next: The Rangers and left-hander Kason Gabbard will oppose the Arizona Diamondbacks and their ace, Brandon Webb, on Tuesday at Surprise Stadium.
