The Bonds 710 Home Run Package features items used during the Giants' April 25 game against the Mets. This package includes: a dirty base that Bonds stepped on as he trotted around the bases after taking a Steve Trachsel pitch over the wall in left-center -- Bonds' first homer of the season at AT&T Park; a game-used baseball and the lineup card from the Giants' dugout, signed by manager Felipe Alou.
The Bonds 711 Home Run Package features items used April 26 against those same Mets. In that game, Bonds came off the bench to hit a dramatic two-run homer off closer Billy Wagner to send the game into extra innings. You can own an actual base he cleated during that trot, too -- along with a game-used baseball.
Bidding for the first item starts at $710, and you can guess what bidding starts at for the second one ($711). The bidding for each package closes on May 17, and now that Bonds is on the brink of history, you might as well keep an eye out for subsequent packages at the Giants Auction.
That is also the day that bidding closes for a batch of extraordinary experiences being offered at the Giants Auction. How would you like to take batting practice just like Bonds and his teammates at AT&T Park? Bidding starts at $2,000 for some Fantasy BP there. You'll get two hours on the field with two Giants alumni for a total of four people -- swinging for McCovey Cove, fielding grounders and shagging flies in the outfield. All four guests receive Giants caps and T-shirts.
And speaking of McCovey, there's a great vintage jersey at the Giants Auctions that Willie himself has signed. It's a Mitchell & Ness jersey that has the inscription "HOF 85" in the autograph, denoting his Hall of Fame induction year. Opening bid is $575.
Also among the selections at Giants Auctions are signed baseballs from Mike Matheny and Noah Lowry, with proceeds benefiting the Giants Community Fund's flagship program, Junior Giants.
For those interested in league-wide bidding, the MLB.com Auction is continuously updated with new items, ranging from a couple of seats recently removed from Fenway Park to a Commemorative Jackie Robinson Home Plate autographed by Dontrelle Willis from the April 15 Jackie Robinson Day.
Opportunities abound for those who love bidding online, and it all begins with some historic Barry stuff.
