Giants slugger Barry Bonds, already the owner of countless history-making moments, reached another astonishing milestone: his 700th career homer. Only two other players -- home run king Hank Aaron and "Sultan of Swat" Babe Ruth -- had ever reached that lofty total.
Bonds accomplished the feat on Sept. 17, hitting No. 700 off Padres starter Jake Peavy in the third inning at SBC Park.
