August 27, 1982 > Rickey Henderson of the Oakland A's breaks Lou Brock's single-season record of 118 stolen bases. Henderson swipes his 119th bag in the third inning of a 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, then proceeds to steal three more before the game is over. He will finish the season with an amazing 130 thefts.
