The Royals recognize the importance of working together to make a difference in our community. Through these programs we aim to address the needs of our teammates off the baseball field.

Royals Blood Drive
Royals Blood Drive

Join the Royals for the annual Royals Blood Drive each summer at the Community Blood Centers in Kansas City, St. Joseph, and Topeka! All registered donors receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming Royals home game and a commemorative t-shirt (while supplies last).

Royals Caravan
Royals Caravan

The Royals Caravan launches the baseball season, as current and former players, mascot Sluggerrr, and front office staff visit communities throughout the Midwest. Each winter, the Caravan visits schools, military members, and shopping centers outside of Kansas City.

Community Drives
Community Drives at Kauffman Stadium

Royals Wives team up with Royals fans for a series of collection drives at Kauffman Stadium to benefit fellow Kansas Citians throughout the year. Fans can donate items prior to attending the games at collection points located at each gate.

Dream Factory
Dream Factory

Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wish of a Dream Factory child. These youngsters who face serious challenges along with their families meet their favorite Royals players in the dugout, witness batting practice before the gates open and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast in the "Dream Factory" segment.

 Father of the Year
Father of the Year

In celebration of Father's Day, the Royals partner with the National Center for Fathering to hold an essay contest in schools throughout the Kansas City area. Nearly 3,000 students submit essays entitled "What My Father Means to Me." The winning authors and their fathers are treated to a game and recognition during a special pre-game ceremony. Winners will also be recognized at a reception at Kauffman Stadium at Kauffman Stadium.

Girls Night Out
Girls Night Out

Grab your girlfriends and head out to the ballpark! The annual Girls Night Out event features a pregame party in the Outfield Experience featuring food and beverage specials, a fashion show, massages, a chocolate fountain and much more! A portion of the proceeds from the event go toward a women's health charity!

Gloves for Kids
Gloves for Kids

Hosted by Royals Announcer Ryan Lefebvre's Footprints Foundation, Gloves for Kids helps to purchase new baseball gloves and other equipment for underprivileged youth baseball players. Royals players join Lefebvre to sign autographs for fans who donate at least $25 to the cause. The event has raised more than $70,000 for area young ballplayers.

Greater Kansas City Day
Greater Kansas City Day

On Opening Day, the Royals team up with more than 1,500 volunteers to sell a special Royals edition of the Kansas City Star throughout the city. Proceeds from the sales helped send kids to Rotary Youth Camp and other deserving children's charities.

Operation Blessing
Operation Blessing

The Royals join forces with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hy-Vee and Operation Blessing, to feed more than 3,000 needy people in Kansas City. Under the motto "Two Teams: One Goal," the clubs join more than 200 community volunteers to distribute Operation Blessing’s food and toys to those who need it most.

Grow with the Pros
Grow with the Pros

The Kansas City Royals, together with Royals Charities and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, will host the Grow with the Pros Open House at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. During the event, which is free to the public, fans will have an opportunity to learn tips and techniques on grass and field maintenance from the Royals Grounds Crew and participating vendors. Raffles and drawings with prizes from participating vendors will also be held throughout the event. Following the Grow with the Pros Open House, Royals Charities and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund will host a private field maintenance clinic for previous grant recipients.

Healthy Kids Day

The Kansas City Royals and the YMCA of Greater Kansas City team up to offer kids and families the opportunity to play fun games together, learn cool exercises and get tips on choosing healthy foods, all while enjoying the fun of Kauffman Stadium. The 2013 event is set for June 23. Special activities and information booths to promote a healthy, active lifestyle will be set up in the Outfield Experience beginning at 10 a.m. YMCA Healthy Kids Day is celebrated across the country and is the nation's largest health day for children and families. As part of the program, the Royals are offering special ticket discounts with a portion of each purchase going to the YMCA of Greater Kansas City.

KCP&L Royals Perfect Attendance Program

More than 7,000 area elementary school children who achieve perfect attendance throughout the academic school year are honored at designated KCP&L Royals Perfect Attendance Days.

Pitch, Hit & Run

Young baseball players have the opportunity of a lifetime by competing in the sectional finals of Major League Baseball's Pitch, Hit and Run competition at Kauffman Stadium after earning the opportunity at local competitions.

PLAY Clinic
PLAY Clinic

The Royals team up with the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) to host a free PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) clinic at Kauffman Stadium. Royals players join members of the Royals sports medicine staff to lead pre-selected youth in baseball fundamentals and exercises.

RBI Program
RBI Program

The Royals, along with Major League Baseball, support Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program. The league provides boys and girls ages 8-18 the opportunity to play organized baseball and softball, while placing emphasis on life skills such as teamwork, leadership and interacting with others. The Royals play an active role in fundraising, securing facilities, and recruiting players and coaches for RBI. In addition, the Royals host all RBI players to a special night at Kauffman Stadium.

Royals Troopers

For each Sunday home game, Royals Director-Groundskeeping and Landscaping Trevor Vance and his staff host select children who have a parent deployed through the United States military efforts overseas to join the Royals Grounds Crew as part of the Royals Troopers program. The honored kids will help prepare the field prior to the Royals game and will receive game tickets and Royals merchandise.

School Day at The K

The Royals join Missouri Lottery to honor outstanding educators through the Missouri Lottery Stars of the Classroom recognition program. Prior to six Royals games throughout the summer, Missouri Lottery and the Royals will celebrate the achievements of top teachers from six school districts in the metro area. More Info

Sluggerrr's Reading Program
Sluggerrr's Reading Program

The Kansas City Royals are excited to team up for the Sluggerrr's Read to Succeed program. The Sluggerrr's Read to Succeed program was formulated to motivate students in grades K through 5 to read a piece of literature of their own choice for a minimum of 15 minutes per day.

The Royals partner with TeamSmile to host a free dental health education, screening and treatment clinic at Kauffman Stadium for children associated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. Kids receive free dental care, in between taking in all of the attractions of the Outfield Experience.
