Astros Charity Group Ticket Information

We are honored that over the years we have provided hundreds of charities with complimentary tickets. Many people that would never be able to attend a game on their own have enjoyed Astros baseball because of the partnership between the Astros and area non-profit groups.

The 2011 Charity Group Ticket Program is now "sold out" and all tickets have been donated for the 2011 season. Groups may apply for the 2012 Charity Group Ticket program by submitting an online application for games beginning in March 2012. Please check back to apply online at that time.

Information about the program, based on the 2011 program, is available below. For additional questions, please contact the Astros Community Affairs department at 713-259-8000.

Who can apply for Charity Group Tickets?
  • Not-for-profit and charity groups that serve children and/or adults in the greater Houston area that for various reasons do not have the resources on their own to attend a game.
Are there any limitations and restrictions?
  • Non-profit and charity groups may request tickets for a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 250 people per game.
  • Each group may apply for up to six games a year (three from April-June and three from July-September). There is no guarantee that six games will be awarded.
What are the rules?
  • Groups requesting free tickets must complete all parts of the official application.
  • Applications for games in April, May and June are accepted from early March through late May.
  • Applications for games in July, August and September are accepted from early June through late August.
  • Applications received with less than one week advance notice of the earliest game requested cannot be processed.
  • A select number of games are available and groups must pick from those pre-determined dates.
  • Charity Group Tickets are for groups only. The Astros reserve the right to disqualify organizations who:
    1. Request a large number of tickets and fail to use them.
    2. Request any number of tickets and not show up.
    3. Have individuals other than those they serve use the tickets.
    4. Sell these tickets. They are not available for re-sale.
  • Tickets are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Once tickets are awarded they cannot be exchanged for a different game.
  • In the event the tickets are lost they cannot be replaced.
  • Sending in an application is not a guarantee that your group will receive free tickets.
What is the process? How do I know if my group is awarded tickets?
  • Processing of your application can take several weeks, so please send in your application well in advance of the earliest game that you are requesting.
  • Applications are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and awarding groups tickets to a game or games along with the seating location of those tickets will be determined by what is available at the time your application is received.
  • You will be notified by email from charitytickets@astros.com of the games for which you have been awarded free tickets.
  • It is possible that you will be notified that you are a recipient of free tickets well in advance of the actual game. If that it is the case your actual tickets, in most instances, will not yet be available at the time of notification.
  • Tickets will be available to groups that have received award notification approximately one week prior to their game date.
  • The Astros Community Affairs Department will e-mail each group when their actual game tickets are available for pick up.
  • When your tickets are available you will need to make arrangements for picking up the tickets at Minute Maid Park in advance of your game.
What else do I need to know about my Charity Group Tickets?
  • You may enter through any gate.
  • With your game ticket you are eligible to receive any promotions that may be given away provided you meet other specific giveaway criteria (i.e. one of the first 10,000 people at the game).
  • Charity Group Ticket requests that require special seating for disabled individuals may take longer to process. In addition, wheelchair and wheelchair attendant seating is limited.

Please plan carefully before submitting your application. Once you are awarded tickets they are yours and cannot be reallocated or exchanged.

Important: We do monitor the use of the Charity Group Tickets. If you fail to use some or all of your tickets or they are used improperly you may be not be eligible for future complimentary tickets from the Houston Astros.

Thank you for your interest in Astros Charity Group Tickets. We look forward to working with you!
